What defines a dumpling? Essentially they are cooked balls or shapes of dough typically stuffed with fillings yet not necessarily so. Cuisines all over the world encompass them in their food culture and throughout the globe there are so many versions of dumplings that are fried, boiled, steamed, baked and even stewed! In this class we go globe hopping trying to get to all of the greatest dumplings of the world. We travel with the dumpling in this workshop from India, to China, to Africa to Japan to Peru and even pass through Iraq! Since this is a long class for us we decided to make it even more fun as we sip on some beer from around the world as well! We will not only make the dumplings but also teach you the best dumpling condiments that are enjoyed typically with these puffy doughy delights! So grab your passport and an appetite for food culture and come learn about the dumpling!

Nissa Pierson

Nissa Pierson, Managing Director of Ger-Nis Culinary & Herb Center, loves taking the time to treat herself to simple remedies that really improve our quality of life! She's famous for her own luscious lips although she is quite sensitive to their large size! Hence she is a firm believer in lip presentation, as they take center stage on her face. She believes in the natural especially when it comes to in and on your body! She approaches life head-on, believing that whatever one does in life one should do at full capacity. Noted Marketing Expect, Accredited Recipe Writer, and Herb Farming Extraordinaire, Nissa Pierson has led the way for Ger-Nis International LLC for nearly a decade, pioneering a new course for Fair-Trade & Organic Fruit and Vegetable Distribution. This cat proves that an active curiosity actually just makes you better prepared for the many things life throws at you. This curious approach led her to tending giant basil fields in the California landscape which turned into selling herbs on massive scales for others which turned into selling herbs on massive scales for herself and their growers which, in turn, gave birth to the center we know and love today. She craves travel, seeking fresh herb and organic conversation throughout the world. Nissa is a self-taught cook, employing truly tried-and-true techniques not found in so many other places, lending a deliciously, unique quality to every dish she prepares. She is a big fan of riding the waves and horses but not roller coasters. Contact Nissa
