You are invited to join Dwa Fanm and the YAANY Public Service/Social Justice Committee for a Haitian-Inspired meal to kick off Dwa Fanm's "Dining for Dwa Fanm" Series. Dwa Fanm (Women's rights in Haitian Creole) is a human rights organization committed to end discrimination, violence and other forms of injustice against women and girls locally and in in Haiti. To continue the work that Dwa Fanm is doing, including collaborating with organizations such as YAANY, Dwa Fanm is launching a series of dinners hosted by different people and organizations throughout the year. The goal is for Dwa Fanm to raise $10,000 to offset costs of its programs targeting young women in New York and Haiti. So please join us for the kick-off dinner to the "Dining for Dwa Fanm" series, and enjoy a Haitian inspired meal with Haitian entertainment. Please note, while we have a suggested contribution of $50, all donation sizes are appreciated. For instance, the cost of one individual's meal will go far in helping Dwa Fanm's programs. For example, a gift of $50 can pay for a month's worth of supplies needed for Dwa Fanm's domestic violence support groups, parenting support group, and Survivor Advocacy Group. Collection of $200, can cover the utility expenses for Dwa Fanm's emergency safe dwelling for domestic violence survivors; If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer at this event please contact haititaskforce@hotmail.com. |
